Morlun, Devourer of Spiders
Rare · Legendary Creature — Vampire Villain
9.4BombRank 1 of 188
The best card of the set (9.4/10).
Why. A flexible bomb: you pick X to suit the game. On turn five it is a lifelinker with three counters that also burns the opponent for three; late in the game a big X can end things on the spot.
Risks. He enters with X counters but still dies to removal in response, and the two black mana in the cost rule out a splash. Pouring all your mana into him leaves the board empty if he is answered.
In the draft. Take him very early if you are black: he is good at every stage of the game. Look for cheap creatures and removal to survive until X is big.
