Marvel's Spider-Man (SPM)
Released September 26, 2025 · 188 rated cards
Artwork: Morlun, Devourer of Spiders
- Five allied two-colour archetypes: white-blue, blue-black, black-red, red-green and green-white; each has its gold uncommons, while the other pairs only have rares or mythics.
- The set has 80 legendary cards: there is no point in playing the same one twice. Creature types matter too: 50 cards are Villains and 39 are Spiders, and many abilities reward them.
- Web-slinging and Mayhem are the two replay mechanics; Connive and modified creatures round out the plans.
- This set has no public game data: this guide rests on the card text and on published opinions.

What players think
The format is seen as slow: games stall, big bodies and fliers matter, and value engines outweigh tempo. (villains) and (web-slinging) are judged the best decks; white has the most reliable removal, while red is seen as the weakest, which weighs on (mayhem) and (mana value 4+). Opinions differ on removal, weak overall for some, and on red, which others find useful. (modified) is seen as decent but reliant on its archetype cards. Mayhem was praised as powerful at launch, then judged disappointing after a few games.

Mechanics of the set
Web-slinging
You may cast the spell for its web-slinging cost if you also return a tapped creature you control to its owner's hand.
Mayhem
You may cast the card from your graveyard for its mayhem cost if you discarded it this turn.
Modified
A creature is modified if it has Equipment, an Aura you control or a counter on it.
Connive
Draw a card, then discard a card; if you discarded a nonland card, the creature gets a +1/+1 counter.
Villains
Villain is a creature type; several cards reward the Villains you control, cast or get back from the graveyard.
Mana value 4 or greater
Several cards reward casting a spell with mana value 4 or greater, or controlling a permanent with that value.

To remember
- Equipment and Auras count towards modified creatures: six cards of the set mention it, so take a few before settling on white-blue.
- Nine cards have web-slinging and twelve have mayhem: keep cheap creatures to return, and ways to discard for mayhem.
- The type of your creatures matters as much as their colours: 50 cards are Villains and 39 are Spiders.
- Keep ways to deal with big creatures: Spectacular Tactics, Web Up and Venom's Hunger are commons that do it.
Intrinsic ratings: they do not take into account the cards you have already picked. They matter most for the first pick of the first pack.
