Scarlet Spider, Ben Reilly
Rare · Legendary Creature — Spider Human Hero
6.6GoodRank 48 of 188
A very good rare of the format (6.6/10).
Why. A three-mana 4/3 with trample, with a two-mana option through web-slinging that adds counters: the more expensive the returned creature, the bigger he gets. Strong tempo.
Risks. He needs red and green, and with no tapped creature to return, he gets no counters. Casting him cheaply also costs you the tempo of the returned creature.
In the draft. A good gold card for red-green. Take it early and look for creatures with enter effects: returning a big creature makes him huge.
