Raphael's Technique
Rare · Instant
2.5WeakRank 174 of 190
Not good filler and often gets cut (2.5/10).
Why. A symmetrical instant: each player may discard their hand and draw seven cards. With Sneak, the cost drops to three mana, and it works as a reload when your hand is nearly empty.
Risks. It is symmetrical: your opponent may draw as well. At full price, six mana for no board impact is far too slow. Sneak needs an unblocked attacker to return to hand.
In the draft. A niche effect for a deck that has emptied its hand. It will rarely make the main deck: do not take it over playable creatures.
Win rate of the card
Percentage of games won by the decks that play this card, depending on when it shows up, from the real games of the set.
Its place in the set
- Rare: rank 50 of 53
- Red: rank 21 of 27
- Cost 6: rank 9 of 10
Win rate by colour pair
Percentage of games won by the decks of each pair that play the card, with the number of games. The pairs are the two main colors of the deck: when the card has a color outside the pair, the deck plays it as a splash (marked “splash”). A pair that has an archetype in this set leads to its guide.
Win rate on the play and on the draw
Win rate alongside other cards
Win rate of the decks that play both cards, compared with the one you would expect from what each card gets alone. At least 150 games together.
